D23 has just announced that for the very first time Lucasfilm will have its very own pavilion on the 2019 D23 Expo show floor. D23 has announced that the Lucasfilm pavilion will feature “an impressive display showcasing the evolution of Star Wars stormtroopers. The exhibit will include several of the actual costumes used on screen throughout the iconic movie series. From the classic stormtrooper to the new design featured in the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, this stunning display is a rare opportunity to examine these production costumes up close instead of in a galaxy far, far away.” There will also be a chance to watch the new video shorts from Star Wars Galaxy of Adventure and “interactive activities for kids.”
For those that follow StarWars.com it looks like D23 attendees will have a chance to see the Lucasfilm display coming to SDCC. Yesterday StarWars.com announced that the LuncasFilm 2019 SDCC exhibit will have an “exhibit of trooper armor from across the Star Wars saga, including a first look at the next evolution in Imperial/First Order soldiers: the “Sith trooper” from the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It’s a modern and more menacing look befitting its namesake.”
In their own announcement about the D23 LucasFilm pavilion released today, StarWars.com confirmed that D23’s Pavilion will include the new Sith Trooper that is premiering at SDCC will be appearing as part of the exhibit at D23.
D23 also announced that during the Disney+ panel, that is being held on August 23, guests will get to see a sneak peek of the new DIsney+ series”The Mandalorian.” The new Star Wars live action series is based on a bounty hunter “who travels the outer reaches of the lawless galaxy, surviving as a mercenary-for-hire.” Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau will be on hand for this portion of the Disney+ panel.
